In an attempt to spruce up the first teaser of the upcoming film, English Vinglish, the makers have gotten Sridevi to read the Censor Board certificate in her broken English.She even takes jibes at the names of the producer R Balki and director Gauri Shinde (Balki's wife) by mispronouncing them. For the initial bit, her back is facing the audience, but then she turns around and giggles in her trademark style.
This was filmmaker Balki's idea and he had to take the Censor Board's permission for including it in the trailer. As the film has Sridevi's character trying to learn the English language in a bid to impress her husband and family, he thought this would be an eye-catching aspect.
This film marks the return of Sridevi to the big screen after a break of 14 years. The film also stars French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain and Priya Anand. Amitabh Bachchan has a special appearance in the film.
