Madhur Bhandarkar’s much anticipated movie Heroine starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, is learnt to be promoted in three different versions of its theatrical trailer, each for a different segment of audience. An uncensored version will also be released online by the filmmaker.
Confirms Shikha Kapur of producers DisneyUTV, “We have cut three trailers for Heroine”.
According to HT Media, the original trailer will be posted online in its entirety, with the three theatrical trailers certified by the censor board targeting – Indian audiences (U/A), the overseas market (12 years and above in UK), and adult audiences (A) world wide.
The content will not be completely different, according to an HT insider from the production house:
“For example, we have changed Hindi words like ‘r***i’ (prostitute) to ‘item’ for our U/A trailer. Plus, the cigarette-smoking scene has been blurred. The love-making sequences have also been cut down.”
The film – rampant with love making scenes, smoking and drinking – is said to be the boldest ever work of Bhandarkar. It is a story of a film actress Mahi Arora who was at her peak at one time.
Arjun Rampal is the male lead but the focus is totally on Kareena’s character. Not a single look of Rampal’s been released until now.
The film will hit in theaters on September 21, Kareena’s 32nd birthday
