if the rumours are to be believed, the choreographer, director and newly turned actress, Farah Khan, has roped in Bollywood’s hunk and heartthrob, John Abraham, and Shahrukh Khan to star in her much awaited and talked about film, Happy New Year. The handsome duo will appear for the first time in a film together (not counting SRK’s short appearance in a song in the John Abraham and Ajay Degvn starrer Kaal).
Also, the word on the grapevine is that Abhishek Bachchan and comic Boman Irani (also Farah’s co-star in her debut film as an actress – Shirin Farhad Toh Nikal Padi) are also set to star in the romantic comedy. SRK was reportedly not on board for the film beforehand, due to some issues with Farah reportedly, but has now given his go-ahead. A source close to the star states, “Yes, Shah Rukh and Farah have hugged and made up. They are indeed coming together forHappy New Year. The decision was taken very recently and there would be an official announcement soon.”
Now that SRK has given his pact, what about John? “He is very happy he will be working with Shah Rukh for the first time. And he is excited he will share screen space with Abhishek, with whom he enjoyed great camaraderie during the making of Dostana and has been good friends with ever since.”
About casting John for the role, a source close to Farah Khan states, “Farah wanted someone with a very cool body language for the fourth male lead. She had been toying with the idea of casting John for a long time. The deal was sealed a few days before John flew off to Turkey to shoot forRace 2“.
Well, John certainly has ‘very cool body language’, as he’s been dubbed the ‘Hunk of Bollywood’ by many! Wonder how SRK and John’s on-screen friendship will pan out! Let’s hope they give the audiences something worth shouting about (although we’re sure it’s not going to be another Dostana)!
